Yard Debris Pickup Monday 6/12

Yard Debris will be picked up Monday 6/12 to allow time to clean yards and bring debris to the curb.

 

This is to allow residents time to clean up after last night’s storm. The town is unable to collect entire trees, but can collect limbs and sticks following the usual regulations:

 

  • Curbside brush and yard debris will be collected from the residences inside the town limits of Littleton, NC.
  • Loose leaves (not bagged) will be collected from the residences inside the town limits of Littleton, NC during the fall months.
  • Leaves, grass clippings, and pine straw must not be bagged. Bags will not be picked up by the contractor. Place debris by sidewalk and edge of yard, not on the curb or in the storm drain. Limbs and trimmings may be no longer than 5 feet and no bigger than 5 inches in diameter.
  • No commercial yard/garden debris is allowed. Contractors must remove debris, the town will not pick it up. No household/kitchen trash is allowed.

Loose Leaf Pickup – November Update

Loose leaf collection will begin November 28, 2016. (Prior to the Christmas Parade on December 3rd)

The next collection date is the week of December 19, 2016. (The week before Christmas)

 

 

Important Reminders:

  • Bagged leaves will not be collected.
  • Sticks, branches, piles of pine cones, etc. are not to be piled with leaves as they can’t be put through the leaf vacuum.
  • No leaves are to be put in the storm drains.

Yard waste collection will begin October 31st, 2016. This does not include loose leaves.

Yard Waste collection is contracted out by the town and delays are caused by the contractor’s work schedule and ability to collect and dispose of the debris when the ground is muddy or due to weather.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Loose leaf collection will begin in November, 2016.  Bagged leaves and piles of leaves put out prior to November will not be picked up.

The loose leaf pickup schedule will be announced at a later date.

Yard Debris Pickup – Changes

BAGGED DEBRIS WILL NO LONGER BE PICKED UP.

Brush, small limbs, and branches placed near the curb will be collected the last week of each month.   Beginning with the end of May yard debris collection, NO YARD DEBRIS PLACED IN BAGS WILL BE COLLECTED.  Leaves, pine cones, etc. may be brought to the Summit dump or recycled in an area in your yard.
